The SoCal Cerveceros (SCC) celebrate their four year anniversary by hosting a homebrew beer festival supporting local award-winning East LA nonprofit, The Gumball Foundation.
SCC has cemented its place in history with the distinction of being the first and largest Latino based homebrew club in California, if not the entire country. As the club approaches four years in existence, they embark on setting a new precedent by producing the largest gathering of Latino/POC homebrewers ever. COLDXELA 2019 will feature 50+ homebrewers from all over Los Angeles County pouring over a dozen styles of beer. Styles include an array of craft beer fan favorites from IPA, Hazy IPA, Hefeweizen, Lager, to Belgian Saisons, Witbier and Golden Stout to name just a few. For those who enjoy drinking cider, they have you covered too. Various Latin American food options will pair nicely with the beers being offered.
COLDXELA 2019 will feature live performances from some of LA’s most exciting bands. From Whittier, CA is the indie Soul Reggae/Ska group, Scarlett and the Fever. Serenading you with tropical island vibes is Tropi Corillo with their take on afrotaino rhythms of the past. Boyle Heights native and fast rising hip hop star, Viva Mescal will be sure to get the party started. Phoenix, AZ band, Fayuca, come with their high energetic live show. Making a special LA stop while on tour, beer fans are in for a treat. And taking this already over the top festival to the next level is none other than LA underground party fav’s – Subsuelo Crew! These DJ’s only know one way to do it and they do it the best. Get ready for that Global Bass, Cumbia, Funk, Hip Hop that pairs nicely with whatever you have in your taster cup.
Staying true to their mission statement of supporting local Latino owned businesses and giving back to charitable non-profits, the SoCal Cerveceros have partnered with the Gumball Foundation; a 501(c)3 nonprofit with an emphasis on providing middle/high school students with hands on entrepreneurial training and college prep programs, paid summer internships and zero percent loans to local entrepreneurs. The Gumball Foundation helps students start and run their own micro ventures as incentives to save for and attend four year institutions. Students are provided mentorship and guidance from high school until they start a professional job.
